Eco'Diagnostic is a private and independent research and consulting firm founded 1989 by Prof. Paul H. Dembinski and Prof. Alain M. Schoenenberger. The firm is established in Geneva since its founding and has set up a subsidiary at Rheinfelden in 2006, in the German speaking canton of Aargau, near the city of Basle.
The two partners lead a team of academics specialised in providing socio-economic policy analysis and advice to public and private, national and international organisations. The team is experienced in a large number of investigation methods used in economics and social sciences and is used to work in English and the three national languages of Switzerland (and in several other languages).

 

Paul H. Dembinski

Professor in economics, University of Fribourg, Switzerland, partner of Eco'Diagnostic.
He holds a PHD in economics of the University of Geneva (1982) and a degree in political sciences (1978) of the Graduate Institute of International Studies. Economist and researcher , Paul H. Dembinski ist the co-founder (in 1989 with Alain Schoenenberger) of the private independent consulting company Eco'Diagnostic. Moreover, Paul H. Dembinski ist professor at the University of Fribourg where he teaches international competition and business strategies. Since 1996, he is the director of the secretariat of the foundation of the 'Observatoire de la Finance and co-editor of the quarterly review "Finance and the Common Good".
Paul is interested in a variety of domains (finance, international competition, ethics, small and middle sized enterprises, economies of transition). His work has three points in common: a method inspired by systemic analysis which consists of constructing the object to be studied according to the question to be answered ; a research approach at the so-called mesoeconomic level which lies between macroeconomics and business economics and, finally, an interdisciplinary approach.

 

 


Alain M. Schoenenberger

Partner of Eco’Diagnostic, associate professor at the University of Neuchâtel, and lecturer in taxation at the University of Geneva.
Alain Schoenenberger spent part of his childhood in the Swiss German part of Switzerland before studying economics at the University of Geneva. He obtained in 1979 a diploma in public finance at the University of Buckingham (GB) and a doctorate from the University of Geneva in the early eighties. He was assistant and research assistant in economics in Geneva. From 1987 to 1995, Alain Schoenenberger was a consultant for the Swiss economic survey at the OECD and worked two years also in a family business. In 1989, he founded, with Paul Dembinski, Eco’Diagnosic, a private independent consulting company and works since then primarily as independent economic consultant. During eight years he was a member of the External Committee for Public Policy Evaluation (State of Geneva).
His domain of specialisation is public economics and public finance, the evaluation of public programmes and policies as well as regional economics.
